Bush School & Academy

A working field school built around the African bush itself — for students of every age who want to learn to see, read and respect wild country.

Learning by being there.

The Bush School & Academy is the heart of what we do. Students spend their days in the bush — tracking, walking, watching, asking questions — and their evenings around the fire, talking through what they saw and what it meant.

We work with school groups, gap-year students, adult learners and corporate teams. Course length and intensity flex to suit the group, but the foundation never changes: real time in real country with people who have spent their lives there.

Core modules

01

Tracking & Spoor Interpretation

Reading the ground — gait, age, direction and intent. The foundation discipline of every bushman.

02

Wildlife Behaviour

How to read the bush around you: alarm calls, herd dynamics, predator/prey signals, and what they mean for your safety.

03

Bushcraft & Survival

Navigation, fire, water, shelter, plant knowledge — the practical skills that keep you alive and useful in the field.

04

Ethics & Conservation

The why behind the work. Land use, ecology, and the conservation context every student must understand.
