A life spent learning the African bush.
Les Brett has spent more than two decades teaching, tracking and protecting wildlife across Southern Africa — and built Dung Beetle Bush School to pass that knowledge on.

The fight for the wild is the fight of our generation.
Wildlife and wilderness areas in Africa have never been so desperate as they are now. We have witnessed the dramatic and blatant destruction of our wild places, and the indiscriminate poaching carried out by organised gangs and crime syndicates — in country that, not long ago, teemed with game.
Les Brett — the founder of Dung Beetle Bush School — is passionate about wildlife and the African bush. He started the school more than twenty years ago to aid in the fight against poaching and to help ensure the survival of these magnificent animals.
Today the school runs three connected disciplines: a Bush School and Academy for students of every age; specialist Anti-Poaching Training for rangers and reserve staff; and a Safari Manager service that quietly funds the rest of the work by sharing the bush with people who care about it.
“The preservation of our wilderness lies in the hands of our children.”
